What is Carbon Capital?
After publishing investing content online for six years and investing for nearly a decade, Carbon Capital is everything I have learned, and everything I have yet to.
At its core, Carbon Capital is an investing journal. I will document my research process, record every major investment decision, and track the results transparently over time. Both the wins and the mistakes.
Great opportunities are rare. The goal is patience, not activity. There may be weeks or months where no trades are made. That is by design, not by accident.
Most investors today have only seen a market that goes up, myself included. Since the Global Financial Crisis, every major correction has recovered quickly. I have not navigated a severe multi-year drawdown or invested through a lost decade. What I do have is a clear framework, genuine skin in the game, and a commitment to documenting this honestly regardless of how things are going.
Carbon Capital is not a stock picking service, a prediction machine, or a signals feed. The goal is to build and follow a disciplined process for investing in great businesses over the long term.
More than anything, this is about learning in public. Every year is completely different and will present difficult challenges that haven't been seen before. There is no shortcut to that experience. Carbon Capital is where I intend to document that journey as I work toward becoming a great investor.
If you want a front row seat to that process, an email is going out this Wednesday, March 11.
