📊 Famous Investor Portfolios

1) Warren Buffett’s Stock Portfolio 2) Michael Burry's Stock Portfolio 3) Chase Coleman's Stock Portfolio and more!

Happy Sunday!

Last Thursday, billionaires and famous money managers with at least $100M in assets under management were required to file Form 13F for Q3.

These filings reveal their public equity holdings, giving us a glimpse into their trades and overall portfolios.

I’ve updated my website to help you visualize the portfolios of some of the world’s top investors.

View the full report by clicking the button below!

Below, I’ll be covering five key portfolios with my brief thoughts and a rundown of notable trades.

As always, thank you for being a loyal subscriber.

Some key data bites from this week that you should know:

In today’s newsletter:

  • 🐐 Warren Buffett’s Stock Portfolio

  • 🇹🇳 Michael Burry’s Stock Portfolio

  • 📟 Chase Coleman’s Stock Portfolio

  • 🌯 Bill Ackman’s Stock Portfolio

  • 📡 Pat Dorsey’s Stock Portfolio

  • Buys: $DPZ, $POOL

  • Adds: $HEI.A

  • Reduced: $AAPL, $BAC, $SIRI, $CHTR, $NU, $COF, $ULTA

  • Sold: $LSXMK, $LSXMA, $FND

*Notable Changes:

In Q3, Buffett trimmed his stake in Apple by 25%, Bank of America by 23%, and Ulta Beauty by a surprising 96%.

  • The Ulta move was particularly unexpected, as Berkshire had just entered the position in Q2.

New positions were started in Domino’s Pizza and Pool Corporation, but both make up less than 1% of the portfolio—insignificant in the bigger picture.

  • It’s worth nothing that for smaller positions, its likely that Berkshire’s other money mangers, Todd Combs or Ted Weschler, are the ones making the trades.

Overall, Buffett was a net seller in Q3, adding to his massive $325B cash pile, which I covered recently.

  • Buys: $JD (Put), $BABA (Put), $BIDU (Put)

  • Adds: $BABA, $JD, $FOUR, $BIDU, $MOH, $OLPX

  • Reduced: $REAL, $ACIC

  • Sold: $HPP, $BCAB

*Notable Changes:

As usual, Michael Burry was very active in Q3.

He doubled his stake in JD.com, increased Baidu by 67%, and added 29% to Alibaba.

  • Interestingly, he also purchased put options on these companies—likely as a hedge—though his overall moves suggest he remains bullish on China overall.

Burry trimmed positions in RealReal and American Coastal Insurance by 50% and 60%, respectively, and fully exited Hudson Pacific Properties and BioAtla.

One important note: The put options shown represent notional value. In 13F filings, options are reported by their notional value, reflecting the total value controlled if exercised—not their actual market value.

  • This can make option positions appear larger than their true risk exposure.

  • Buys: $FLUT, $SHW, $CPNG

  • Adds: $TSM, $CPAY, $LLY, $TTWO, $AMZN, $UNH, $FWONK, $AVGO

  • Reduced: $UBER, $JD, $STNE

  • Sold: $DXCM, $ALAB

*Notable Changes:

Billionaire Chase Coleman remains a committed tech bull, with 35% of his portfolio concentrated in Meta, Microsoft, and Alphabet.

This quarter, Coleman made no major changes to his portfolio.

  • However, he did initiate a position in Flutter Entertainment, FanDuel’s parent company, which now accounts for about 3% of his portfolio.

  • That said, this entry was not enough to crack into his top 10 holdings.

  • Buys: $SEG

  • Adds: $BN, $NKE

  • Reduced: $HLT, $QSR, $CP

  • Sold: N/A

*Notable Changes:

In Q3, Ackman made several notable moves.

  • He significantly increased his stakes in Brookfield Corp (+378%) and Nike (+436%), while trimming Hilton (-18%), Restaurant Brands International, and Canadian Pacific Kansas City.

  • The most intriguing addition was Seaport Entertainment Corp, a small-cap company, though it makes up less than 1% of his portfolio.

One notable omission from the 13F filings is Ackman’s large stake in UMG, listed on the Amsterdam Exchange.

  • Buys: $APP

  • Adds: $SPT

  • Reduced: $SMAR, $SEMR, $META, $WIX, $AZO, $PYPL, $DHR, $GOOG, $HRI, $UPWK

  • Sold: N/A

*Notable Changes:

Pat Dorsey’s investment philosophy centers on a concentrated portfolio of wide-moat stocks.

  • In Q3, he significantly trimmed positions in Smartsheet, SEMrush, and several other holdings.

  • Meanwhile, he initiated a position in mobile technology company AppLovin, now nearly 10% of his portfolio, and added 14% to his stake in Sprout Social.
